There's no turning back now!
So if you've made any plans today, now would be a good time to cancel them. And make sure you're in your most comfortable chair. From this spot you are one click away from hundreds of headshots and other photographs, various network videos, flattering testimonials, my personal story and lots of naked people.
And a special thanks to Starbucks™
They created this site. Not literally, of course, but so much coffee was consumed while planning these pages that I feel indebted to the company that taught me it's okay to spend seventeen dollars on a cappuccino. If I had just saved my money I would probably own the entire Internet by now, rather than a small (and hopefully unique) portion of it. Actually, this site was created by Reg Flowers, a highly creative man with boundless energy. Occasionally I would throw in an idea or two, and even more occasionally Reg would pause in the midst of his creative flurry to politely reject it. I did, however, take all the photographs. So enjoy the trip. It may not change your life, but it might change your mood. For the better, I hope, or else it's Reg's fault.
“My headshot looks exactly like everyone else’s!”
I doubt you have any intention of spending a small fortune to utter that sentence. But it’s surprising how often it happens anyway. At an audition, would you wear the same shirt as everyone else? Or do the same monologue? So why have the same headshot? Most headshot photographers keep taking the same photograph day after day, year after year. By the time you submit your brand new headshot to agents, they’ve already seen that exact photograph over a thousand times. It’s easy to know if this will happen to you. When you’re reviewing a photographer’s portfolio, can you anticipate what the next image will look like? Do they all have the same background, cropping and lighting? Or does every photograph surprise you? If a headshot doesn’t surprise people, it’s not effective, no matter how cool it looks. It’s very easy to take a cool photograph. What’s difficult is to take a different cool photograph day after day, year after year. To make every actor’s headshot stand apart from the pile. That’s my intention. I shoot in my studio and at several different locations every day. I hate repeating myself, and I believe that variety is essential to a successful headshot session. I shoot a minimum of 350 images in at least four locations. And I listen to your requests. I want you to print out some of my headshots that you like and don’t like, and bring them along to our session. That will help me tailor the shoot to you.
Featured Comp Card Client: Erika Shannon
Click here to view the online proof sheets of a recent client. This may give you a clearer understanding of the process. Erika is an actress and fitness model, so she chose the Comp Card Package. The session was split between headshots and fitness print modeling. You can also view her Comp Card or her headshot.
Featured Headshot Client: Kevin Meaney
Click here to view the online proof sheets of another recent client. Kevin is currently performing in Hairspray on Broadway. He has been one of the country's most popular standup comedians for more than 25 years- I ripped that directly from his website, but I believe it given that he's won an Emmy Award, had several HBO specials, appeared many times on Johnny Carson, was a special guest on Saturday Night Live, performed on Letterman, Regis, Oprah and Conan, and starred in the CBS sitcom "Uncle Buck". Plus he's really funny. He chose the Headshot Package because, beautiful as he is, he doesn't anticipate pursuing print work at this time. You can also view his headshot..
Featured Editorial Client: Coral Amiga
Click here to view the online proof sheets of another recent client. Coral recently starred in the HBO series Rome. She is now in a full time acting program, and her publicist requested headshots and editorial photographs for magazines and publicity events. You can also view her headshot or several publicity photos.
Stop global warming, one actor at a time
This is an issue that's very close to my heart, so I've created a financial incentive to make it a priority for you as well. Go to Rate Information to see the specifics. And thank you. "Be the change you want to see in the world." Gandhi.
